It's been a heavy week. I'm sure it has been for many. In the span of two years, Kenneth and I have experienced three friends of ours be removed from their position as a pastor because of secret sin issue. It's only difficult because an individual's sin often costs others more than it does the individual. It hurts. But it's good because truth sets you free. And freedom from sin is glorious! God will always reveal the truth because He loves us too much to leave us the way we have become. While that can be difficult and humbling, it is a fantastic, wonderful reality!
God's justice really is so good... His way of revealing sin issues, lies, and spiritual strongholds in a person's life is so amazing. It's so unbelievably hard to walk through, so agonizing and humbling. But so revolutionizing, so freeing, and so wonderful. Blessed it the person who falls at God's feet, broken and hurting, and cries out to Him, rather than hold on to their sin to the very end and be destroyed for it. As Jesus said, "He who falls on this stone (Jesus) will be broken to pieces, but he on who it falls with be crushed." (Matt. 21: 44) Why not throw ourselves on the rock and be broken so that God can restore us to greater glory? Why hold onto things that keep us in bondage? It doesn't make sense...but we do it. I have found that being broken is one of the greatest things on earth...because God Himself picks you up and takes you to new heights...and He shares with you things that had He told you, you would not have believed.
